Splice Events Place Bar

The restaurant has a spacious layout that seats ~100 people. Because of its high ceilings and symmetrical design, guests can watch any presentation in front with ease. It also has a crisp sound system, which is a must-have at any events place. Reservations can go as low as P15,000 (consumable) for small gatherings.

During a private press event, Chef Benjo Tuason of URBN, Relik, and Sobremesa fame went in front to share a few words with guests. He described his kitchen philosophy by saying, “Prepare with care, cook with love, so you can serve with pride.” He also unveiled a new menu featuring sizzlers, burgers, and pasta dishes. Prices range from P200-P280 for most dishes, making this a place where you can have an affordable, but satisfying everyday meal.

No starter/bar chow menu is complete without a plate of Nachos. Splice’s version is pretty standard, with beef strips, cheddar cheese sauce, tomato salsa, and sour cream. Share a plate with your friends over a few rounds of beer.

Another must-have on any bar menu are Chicken Wings. Splice’s version had perfectly crispy skin, coated with a velvety butter sauce that’s made more exciting with the addition of Sriracha. Not entirely spicy, but its buttery glaze is sure to please your palate. If you’re looking for something else, the wings are also available in Honey Barbecue and Garlic Parmesan flavors.

For those who prefer a healthy starter, there’s always the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. Each piece of lettuce is properly coated in Caesar dressing, topped with sliced hard-boiled eggs and succulent strips of grilled chicken.

Pasta and burgers are common in any person’s comfort food vocabulary. If you’re a fan of rich tomato sauce, try the Puttanesca. Staying true to the original Campania recipe, the ubiquitous tomato sauce is made more interesting with the addition of olives, capers, and anchovies. For those who prefer something heavier, there’s the Sun-Dried Tomato and Creamy Pesto. The tangy but somewhat sweet sun-dried tomatoes cut through the richness of the creamy sauce, creating good balance.

If pasta’s too light for your big appetite, try any of the burgers at Splice. With heavy 1/3 pound patties, they’ll keep you full throughout the night. They’re also served with a bed of thick fries.

Chef Benjo’s most-awaited new dishes are his Sizzlers. There are nine sizzling entree options on the menu, which can be served with your choice of rice or mashed potato. You can upgrade any Sizzler for P50 to get iced tea as well as unlimited rice and soup.

Most sizzlers come with sauces, like the Classic Hamburger Steak which comes with thick mushroom gravy. Pour the sauce over your food and watch it sizzle. Other sizzlers include the Grilled Chicken Fillet and the Bangus ala Pobre. There’s also the Splice Sisig, an absolute must on any sizzling menu. While it is noticeably meatier than the usual fatty sisig, it’s a crowd-pleasing option that’s sure to satisfy.

If you’re hoping to save money on some grub, Splice is currently offering a Frequency Card which gives you your 8th sizzler for free. Great deal, considering each sizzler is already affordable in itself.
