Can you have a plagiarized cake and eat it too?

Celebrity baker Duff Goldman took to Twitter to make a veiled suggestion that the cake he baked for former president Barack Obama was noticeably similar to the one that President Donald Trump had at the Salute to our Armed Services Inaugural Ball.

In response, Buttercream Bakeshop, the company hired to bake Trump’s inauguration cake, posted a photo of the cake on Instagram as well as an explanation on the supposed plagiarism issue.

And before a full-blown cake war erupted, Goldman posted another tweet, sending good cheers to everyone.
